Graduation Portraits
Graduation shoots – How do they work?
The Planning

The fun starts with planning the session. Once the graduate fills out my questionnaire form about their education, personality, and interests I’ll have some ideas to suggest as well as location options that match their style and portrait needs. I have locations all over town to fit any look. After that we’ll discuss creative options such as featuring things that hold meaning for the student such as musical instruments, sports items, and any other things that represent their time in school or their goals afterward.
These make their portraits fun, unique, and personalized which is always my goal.
The Portrait Session
At the photoshoot we casually explore a location or locations to get a variety of looks, poses, and expressions. There’s enough time for 2 or 3 outfit changes not counting your cap and gown if desired. I’ll also help the subject with posing and looking relaxed and natural. The photo shoot experience is always fun and easy even for those uncomfortable in front of the camera.
I often do my sessions around sunset for the best outside lighting but other options are available such as studio, inside venues, and mornings.

The Price
Prices vary from year to year but start around $500 and go up. I encourage my clients to invest in physical artwork for their favorite portraits. Print art is purchased through me to ensure professional print quality and pre-print preparation such as color correction and cropping. I offer canvas, custom wood framed prints, metal sheet prints as well as hard cover custom designed photo albums.
