Graduation Portraits
Graduation shoots – How do they work?
The Planning
The fun starts with planning the session. Once the graduate fills out my questionnaire form about their education, personality, and interests I’ll have some ideas to suggest as well as location options that match their style and portrait needs. I have locations all over town to fit any look. After that we’ll discuss creative options such as featuring things that hold meaning for the student such as musical instruments, sports items, and any other things that represent their time in school or their goals afterward.
These make their portraits fun, unique, and personalized which is always my goal.
The Portrait Session
At the photoshoot we casually explore a location or locations to get a variety of looks, poses, and expressions. There’s enough time for 2 or 3 outfit changes not counting your cap and gown if desired. I’ll also help the subject with posing and looking relaxed and natural. The photo shoot experience is always fun and easy even for those uncomfortable in front of the camera.
I often do my sessions around sunset for the best outside lighting but other options are available such as studio, inside venues, and mornings.
The Product
If you’ve chosen the digitals only package you’ll receive at least 20 unique digitals that have been edited and retouched for personal viewing and sharing on social media.
If you chose the physical print route you’ll build your own custom package of print products and albums to cherish your favorite photos in for year to come. This is done at the Viewing and Ordering meeting. The artwork is then created professionally and delivered to your home. I’ll even help hang them if you would like. It’s all part of the full service photography experience!
The Price
I offer two session options: $400 is the “digitals only” option if you just wish to enjoy your photos on devices and post to social media. I also offer a $600 route if you’re interested in long lasting physical artwork. With this option we meet on another date soon after the portrait session for the Viewing and Ordering meeting where I’ll show you the best photos on your TV and you get to build your custom print package. I offer top quality professional artwork such as custom framed prints, wrapped canvas, modern metal prints, as well as hardcover custom designed albums. Included in that $600 is $450 worth of print credit that goes towards your order.
